Jaybird Quilts Candy Dish Pillow
I absolutely love my Hex N More ruler from Jaybird Quilts. Whenever I need to make a sample for the next show I am exhibiting at, out comes my trusty ruler and then I pick a pattern. Being a true quilter, I also relish using up scraps from my stash. So, I decided to make a Candy Dish cushion.
I took this project along to the monthly meeting of the Greater Western Sydney Modern Quilt Guild at Dooleys Silverwater. I didn't achieve a huge amount as I spent a lot of time chatting and looking at what everyone else was doing.
I then really got into it the next week. I am really proud of the result. I even managed to use some off cuts of batting to complete the quilting of the cushion. The only items I had to 'purchase' was a 16" cushion insert and a fat quarter (from my own shop) for the backing. I felt that the backing had to match my scraps - otherwise I would have made do.
Anyway, I have received a number of patterns for the Sydney Craft and Quilt Show which starts on Wednesday. I am sure with such an amazing sample - they will simply fly out the shop!
