Nine Patch by Catherine King for Fabric Garden is beginners pattern. The quilt pictured uses a linen background with Liberty Fabrics to make your nine patch.

Note: if you are not confident cutting fabrics, substitute the linen for a quilting solid. The reason is that linen moves and is hard to cut accurately.
