Description

Mini Mandalas comprises simple, achievable hand applique combined with clever fussy cutting to make a stunning quilt block that takes full advantage of today's contemporary big print and quirky fabrics.

The setting has a modern feel with wide sashing and off centre cornerstones, resulting in a pattern reminiscent of the modernist breeze block walls. A viewer's attention moves between the striking large blue crosses to the small secondary patterns in the applique blocks.

We were so lucky to have catherine step in so expertly when Megan was unable to do the class. I made a start but did not get to do any applique on the day. My only comments would be to explain the need for the number of repeat patterns required on the fabrics we bring and maybe it should be a 2 day class. The venue is really good too!
