Well I finally finished this quilt. I bought the pattern some years ago at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Show and it sat in my wardrobe for a while. The pattern is called Love Birds by Don't Look Now.
On a trip to see Kaffe Fassett speak in Ballarat in March last year, I started buying the fabric at every patchwork shop I could find. I spent 5 days travelling from Melbourne - Ballarat - Bendigo - Melbourne. The remainder of the fabric I sourced in Sydney.
Putting it all together only took about 3 months, what took the time was that I decided to hand piece it!
Anyway, I am sure it will be an hierloom. Do I have the courage to make a matching cushion or should I just start on the next quilt for Gina (another niece)?
