2015 Mini Tiny Dancer Quilt
I sometimes find that the hardest part about starting a quilt is deciding on the fabric that I will use. It needs to compliment the pattern, such that the pattern shows to its advantage. After some thought I decided to use a couple of charm packs of chevron fabric from Riley Blake for this quilt.
Tiny Mini Dancer work in progress
Mini Tiny Dancer, is the 3rd quilt pattern in Fabric Garden's Jaybird Quilt Mini Club series. It uses the Mini Hex n More ruler from Jaybird Quilts. I have used the 'Maxi' Hex N More in the past and just love this ruler. Making mini's is a lot more challenging simply because the fabric pieces are so small! Also, you really need to keep your wits about you when assembling as this pattern really relies on directionality and colour placement!

I am really in love with the mini concept from a shop perspective as I can knock up a sample really quickly, I can display more in a smaller area and I sell both the mini and 'maxi' version of the pattern. As a bonus, I am using up some of my scraps of fabric and wadding for backing, binding etc. Needless to say that pile is never going to decrease as I am always adding to it.
Have you made this mini? If yes, I would love to see your version.
