Beginners Dress Making BYO pattern
Time: 10 am - 1:00 pm (3 hours)
Date: 5 week course run every second Friday of each term see dates below
We require a minimum of 3 students to run this class. Should the minimum not be met - we will contact you to reschedule or refund your course fee.
Skill Level: Beginner
Age Level: 16 years +
In our five week course we will take you step-by-step through the techniques of constructing your garment.
Each lesson will cover the basics from taking personal measurements, simple pattern adjustments, cutting your fabric, neckline finishes, overlocking, garment finishing techniques and more.
Once you have cut your fabric, it's time to assemble your garment on your own sewing machine. We will assist you with checking that your sewing machine is set up and threaded correctly, bobbin wound and correct needle selected. Practice on a piece of calico (provided) before starting to sew.
At the end of the course you will have completed your first garment and have new found skills to complete many more.
A selection of patterns are available in-store including our Sew to Grow top, dress and pants patterns.
