One day introduction to patchwork and Quilting Class in Neutral Bay, Sydney
Come and join Catherine to get you started on the Baby Star Quilt (pictured)!
This class is for the complete beginner or for anyone wanting to refresh their patchworking skills.
We will cover all the basics including
- Tools for patchwork
- Cutting fabric with a Rotary Cutter
- ¼ inch seams
- Understanding a basic pattern
- Choosing fabrics
- Machine piecing
- Chain piecing
- Hand Piecing
- Nesting seams
This class aims to give you enough understanding of the process for you to be able to follow a basic beginners pattern in your own time.

This class is designed as an introduction to the fundamentals of patchwork and quilting.
Requirements
- Fabric
- Fabric Scissors
- Cotton / thread
- Sewing needles
- Paper/Pen/Pencil
- Quilting ruler
- Rotary Cutter
- Cutting Mat
- Clover Sandpaper / Cutting & Ironing Multi Board
- Sewing Machine (optional)
All requirements for the class will be available for purchase in the shop.
A sewing machine is available for use in the class room and you are welcome to bring your own machine to class.
Please contact the shop for fabric requirements should you wish to purchase fabric prior to commencement of class.

- Lunch - note you are welcome to bring your own lunch and keep in our fridge. There is also a microwave and sandwich toaster. Alternatively, there are a number of cafes in the area where you can pick up a coffee and sandwich.
