Marie is a Sydney based mixed media and collage artist and owner of ‘The Makers Republic’. She has a passion for working with all mediums, from fabric and embroidery, to paints, inks, paper and more, to create one of a kind pieces of clothing, jewellery, art and journals…just to name a few.
Marie's desire is to bring people together, to learn, create and connect. To see the beauty and possibility in everything…to look at things in a different way to create fun, eclectic and quirky designs that make you, and others, smile. I can’t wait to play together!
Join Marie in this class to create your own unique, one of a kind, wearable denim collage jacket.
Included in the workshop:
Cutting mats and rulers.
Morning and afternoon tea are provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements prior to the course date!
What to bring:
- denim jacket (for yourself or as a piece for a child or grandchild)
- fabric suited to fussy cutting (such as flowers, panels, different sized images)
- background fabric
- iron on adhesive such as Steam a Seam Lite
- sewing machine and coordinating threads
- embroidery floss including stranded or pearl
- fabric and paper scissors
- sewing needles including denim needles
- any additional items you might like to embellish with such as beads, buttons and trims - the possibilities are endless!
