Join Catherine for an applique workshop at Fabric Garden in Neutral Bay, Sydney.
This one day workshop is designed to introduce you to Needle-Turn Applique. The course will cover:
- Making your own templates
- Preparing your background fabric and applique shapes
- Starting your own Needle turn Applique Project
- Making Stems
- Making Perfect circles
You may wish to bring your own applique pattern that you need help with or alternatively there will be an array of shapes or a simple design you can choose from on the day to practice the technique.

Included in the workshop:
Morning and afternoon tea are provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements prior to the course date!
Cutting mats and rulers to share.
What to bring
- Small sharp fabric scissors , suitable for cutting small shapes
- Needles ( Applique needles or Milliners 9/10 or your preferred needle)
- Pins
- Fabric for background 1 fat quarter or 1m of fabric for the repeat design
- Fabric for applique shapes
- Threads to match the fabrics you have selected to applique
- Paper scissors
- Pens/pencils
- notepad
- Sewline Pencil or sharp lead pencil for tracing applique shapes
- Rotary cutter
Optional extras to bring along
- Template plastic
- Freezer Paper
- Fabric Glue for basting
- Sandpaper board
- Clover Sand paper/Cutting & Ironing Multi Board
- Perfect Circle Templates
- Small applique pins
- 1/4 inch bias maker
- Small cutting mat for own use.
All supplies will also be available to purchase in the shop on the day.
