2015 Arcadia Avenue BOM Peacock Feathers
2015 Arcadia Avenue BOM Peacock Feathers

I work better to deadlines and the Rosehill Stitches and Craft Show was looming. I needed to finish my second block in the Arcadia Avenue BOM in time for the show so that I could display it!
This was my second ever attempt at Foundation piecing and what a difference! I definitely recommend catching up with the Sassafras Lane Designs QAL blog so that you pick up some tips and tricks. The first important tip is that there is a pattern correction this month.
On Foundation B, the line between 3 (light) and 5 (color) should continue all the way to the seam allowance. The newest books have this fixed.
In addition, the other learn I got from their article the previous month, was to iron the seams open to get a 'flatter' finished block.
I really loved the stripe fabric used in this block - it is Dear Stella Sunstripe Smoke.

I have cut out month 3 - just need to complete the show and then put everything away, before I can start on my next block. I am aiming to have the entire quilt finished in time for the Sydney Craft and Quilt Show in June 2015. Will see how I actually get on!
